The investigation of the levels of teachers awareness on Industry 4.0 conceptual: The case of Bilecik

With Industry 4.0, societies have undergone economic, social and cultural changes. The fact that change has started to be seen in almost all areas has been effective in the field of education, which is the most important building block of society. Thanks to the technological elements integrated into the education system, it is aimed to provide students with different skills. In line with this goal, teachers have a great responsibility to adapt to technology. The aim of this study is to determine the Industry 4.0 awareness levels of teachers working in different schools and levels. Another aim of the study is to develop the Industry 4.0 awareness scale for teachers. Quantitative research method was used in the study and 755 teachers were reached with random sampling method. Since the answers given by 4 teachers were not consistent, it was removed and a study was carried out with 751 teachers. In this context, the 13-item Industry 4.0 Awareness Scale, which is collected under 4 factors including scope validity analysis, reliability analysis, knowledge with factor analysis applied (4), teaching (3), professional development (3) and education (3), was developed in the data set. With the data set created in line with the answers given by the teachers, the hypotheses created about the demographic characteristics of the teachers were tested. In line with the findings obtained, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the Industry 4.0 awareness scale and their educational status, professional seniority and the types of schools they worked in. It was determined that there was no significant difference between the industry 4.0 awareness levels of the teachers and their gender, task types and ages. In line with the findings obtained, recommendations were made for practitioners and researchers.
