Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between secondary school teachers' perception of work-life balance and role conflict and ambiguity. In the research it was analysed whether or not teachers' perceptions differ according to the demographic factors such as gender, professional seniority, educational level, length of service at their current school and marital status. 1112 secondary school teachers working at public schools in the province of Bolu in 2021-2022 educational year constituted the universe of the study. 319 teachers were included within the scope of this study. The data was collected online and correlational survey model was used in the study. Personal Information Form, Work-Life Balance Scale and Uncertainty Scale were used as data collection tools. The gathered data was analysed by SPSS 22.0 packaged software. Mean and standard deviation were calculated by descriptive statistical techniques. Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis Test and Spearman Rho Corelation were used during the process of analysis. According to the findings of the study; work-life balance perception of the teachers who participated in the study was "midlevel", within the subdimensions negative effects of life on work was "low level",positive effects of life on work was "high level", both positive and negative effects of work on life was "midlevel". It was precipitated that the perception of teachers' role conflict and ambiguity level was "a bit higher", within the subdimensions the perception of role conflict level was "low" and the level of role ambiguity perception was "high". Besides, it was concluded that there is no significant difference in teachers' perception of work-life balance in terms of the variables as gender, marital status, educational level, professional seniority and length of service at their current school. There seems a significant difference only between the teachers' perception of role conflict and uncertainty and the length of service at their current school. Midlevel and low level corelations were determined between work-life balance and role conflict and uncertainty. Various suggestions were developed in the light of findings.
