The analysis of the relationship between teachers' motivation and instructional leadership behaviors of principals

In this study; it was aimed to determine relationship between the perceived Instructional Leadership behaviors of Anatolian High School Principals and teachers' motivation working in Anatolian High School. School principals may reduce or increase the motivation of teachers' depending on their leadership behaviors, therefore these behaviors of school principals are quite important for teachers' motivation.The research was designed in correlation and in survey model. In the study, it was analyzed that whether Anatolian High School teachers' motivation levels differ in terms of the variables of sex, branch and professional seniority.Data which was found in the study was analyzed by SPSS 21 Program. According to teachers' views; for defining motivation level of teachers and instructional leadership behaviors level of school principals descriptive statistics were used. According to teachers' views; Pearson correlation analysis were used for the defining relationship between motivation level of teachers and instructional leadership behaviors of school principals. Simple Linear Correlation analysis were made to analyze relationship between teachers' motivation and instructional leadership behaviors of school principals in terms of gender. For the comparison of relationship between motivation level of Anatolian High Schools teachers and instructional leadership behaviors of school principals in terms of subject field and professional seniority, MANOVA was used.As a result of the analysis, motivation level of teachers working at Anatolian High School was found "moderate" with 3,01 average. It has been acquired that, from the point of teachers' perceptions, general instructional leadership behavior of school principals is at "medium" ( X=3,59) level.
