Özet (EN)

This research was conducted to examine the mobbing experiences that teachers are exposed to by students and parents. For this purpose, the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred to conduct an in-depth analysis. The study group of the research consists of 20 teachers working in public schools in Samsun in the 2023- 2024 academic year. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used to collect data in the study. According to the research findings, teachers are subjected to bullying behaviors from students and parents. Prominent mobbing behaviors identified include receiving disturbing phone calls, receiving harassing text messages, being threatened, complained about, slandered, accused, subjected to gossip, having their teaching questioned, and having their lessons sabotaged. According to teacher opinions, both organizational and personal reasons contribute to mobbing. Factors such as the school administration's inability to manage the process effectively, low academic performance of the school, unhealthy communication within the school are cited as organizational reasons. Teachers stated that parents with communication problems, gossipy nature, selfishness, and psychological issues, as well as students with anger issues, poor academic performance, and psychological problems contribute to mobbing. Teachers believe that striving to do their job correctly is a major cause of mobbing. The consequences of mobbing include loss of motivation and reluctance to go to school, which are significant issues that can harm the organization. As a result of mobbing, teachers experience domestic unrest, anger issues, and physical fatigue. Teachers employ various coping methods such as trying to be strong, seeking support from the Ministry of National Education, seeking support from unions and legal channels, seeking support from colleagues, and seeking support from counseling services. 2024, xi + 88 Pages Keywords: bullying, psychological harassment, bullying in the workplace, psychological violence
