Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the teacher's syndicalism who working in official primary and secondary schools in the serdivan district of Sakarya province and organizational silence. The population of the study consists of teachers working in primary and secondary schools of Sakarya province in 2016-2017 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 280 teachers. The research was designed with relational screening model. In this study, Organizational Silence Scale developed by Çakıcı in 2007 and adapted by Soycan (2010) was used. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed through SPSS 20.0 statistical package program. T-test and Oneway ANOVA tests were used for independent samples in order to examine the differences between groups when one dependent variable and one or more independent groups were compared. In addition, descriptive statistical techniques (frequency, percentage and average) were used to distribute the demographic information of the teachers who participated in the study. The results of this study showed that there was organizational silence between primary and secondary school teachers in Serdivan district of Sakarya city. In addition, according to the results of the study, teachers' organizational silence scale scores did not show a significant difference according to gender, educational status and school type variables. However, when evaluated teachers' perceptions of organizational silence in terms of professional seniority variable according to Managerial and Organizational Reasons and Fear of Insulation sub-dimensions , It was found to be statistically significant in favor of the teachers with less seniority years. On the other hand, according to the management style perceived by the teachers in the organizations they work for, organizational silence scale showed significant difference between mean scores. In addition, according to the frequency of face-to-face interviews of teachers with their managers, organizational silence scale showed a significant difference between the mean scores.
