Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the organizational burnout and organizational silence levels of teachers working in secondary schools, to determine the relationship between the teachers' organizational burnout and organizational silence, according to their perception, and to examine them according to some variables. The research is in correlational survey model. The population of the study consists of secondary school teachers working in state schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year in Keçiören, Altındağ in Ankara province. There are 3.431 teachers working in the schools of Keçiören and there are 51 secondary schools and 1.338 teachers working in the schools of Altındağ (Ankara Provincial Ministry of National Education, 2018). The sample of the study consists of the teachers selected according to the simple random sampling method from the teachers in the universe. As a result of the completion of research, to find out the sample size, it is determined that the research should be consisted of at least 356 people. In the study, to measure teachers' organizational burnout according to their perceptions, Maslach Burnout Inventory Educator Form is used and to measure the level of their organizational silence, Organizational Silence Scale is used. SPSS 20.0 package program is used for data analysis. To find out the demographic distribution of the teachers who have answered the survey, frequency analysis is applied. Moreover, to analyze the of organizational silence and organizational burnout according to their perception arithmetic mean and standard deviation are calculated. In order to examine the two different group avarage that provide parametric test hypothesis, t test analysis is used. For the groups consist of three or more than three, analysis of variance is applied. In order to analyse the relationship between the subdimension of organzational burnout and organizational silence, correlational analysis is used. According to the results obtained from the research, it comes into view that the teachers have the highest burnout level in the "emotional exhaustion" dimension and the lowest in the "depersonalization" dimension. It has been observed that teachers have the highest level of silence in the 'administrative' sub-dimension and the least in the 'organizational culture' and 'pressure groups' sub-dimensions. However, according to teachers' perceptions, organizational silence was found to be at the level of 'less'. Teachers' perceptions of organizational burnout sub-dimensions vary depending on the number of children they have, the type of school they graduate from, their professional seniority, and their income other than salary. Teachers' perceptions of organizational silence sub-dimensions vary depending on gender, age, marital status, type of school they graduated from, branch, professional seniority, and home ownership. According to the relationship between teachers 'perceptions of organizational burnout sub-dimensions and their perceptions of organizational silence sub-dimensions, as the teachers' level of emotional exhaustion increases, individual silence, administrative silence, organizational culture, colleagues, and pressure groups' scores increase; As the level of depersonalization increases, the scores of individual silence, administrative silence, organizational culture, colleagues, and pressure groups also increase; as personal success levels increase, scores of individual silence, administrative silence, organizational culture, colleagues, and pressure groups decrease.
