Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between teachers' self-efficacy perception, classroom management concern and pupil control ideologies. The population of the study consists of 8957 teachers working in schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education in Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt districts, which are the central districts of Malatya province in the 2019-2020 academic year. In this study, stratified sampling was preffered among the random sampling method. In the sample of the study, it was used as school level and gender layer. Within the scope of the research, the remaining 599 participants formed the sample of the research after the missing and incorrectly filled data were removed. The distribution of teachers in the sample in terms of gender variable; 273 (45.6%) are women and 326 (54.4%) are men. The distribution of the teachers in the sample in terms of the school level they work at; 196 (32.7%) preschool-primary school, 273 (45.6%) secondary school and 130 (21.7%) high school. In the study, the general screening model method is used to determine the levels of teachers' self-efficacy, classroom management concern and pupil control ideologies. The relational screening model was preferred to determine whether the teachers' self-efficacy perception, classroom management concern and pupil control ideologies have changed or not and how they are determined in case of change. A model that predicts direct and indirect effects has benn proposed by taking into account the literature on teachers' self-efficacy perception, classroom management concern (time management concern, motivational concern, and communication concern) and pupil control ideologies. In order to test this model, a path analysis study was performed with the variables observed within the framework of structural equation modeling (SEM). Data on the variables of the study were collected through scales and a personal information form. Data in this thesis; "Classroom Management Concern Scale", "Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale", "Pupil Control Ideology Scale" and personal information about the participants were collected through "Personal Information Form". In the analysis of the research data, simple correlation test, regression analysis, descriptive statistics, path analysis were performed. As a result of the research, 2 sub-problems and 10 hypotheses of the research were determined. It is seen that all hypotheses are accepted. The prominent findings of the research are that teachers' self-efficacy perceptions (x̄=2.12) are moderate, time management (x̄=3.42), communication (x̄=3.58) and motivation (x̄=3.58) concern sub-dimensions of classroom management concern are high, pupil control ideologies (x̄=3.05) are at a medium level. According to the research model, self-efficacy (ÖY), time management concern (ZYK) are directly negative (ß = -.248), motivation concern (MK) is directly negative (ß = -.230) and communication concern (İK) is directly negative. (ß = -.229) affects. Self-efficacy (ÖY) affects pupil control ideologies (ÖKİ) directly negatively (ß = -.187). Time management concern (ZYK) pupil control ideologies (ÖKİ) directly in the positive direction (ß = .205), motivation concern (MK) pupil control ideologies (ÖKİ) directly in the positive direction (ß = .191) and communication concern (İK) pupil control influences their ideology (ÖKİ) directly in the positive direction (ß = .123). In the relationship between teachers' self-efficacy perception and pupil control ideologies, time management concern (ß= -.188), motivation concern (ß= -.197) and communication concern (ß= -.212) were found to have a partial mediating effect. According to these findings, in order to increase the perception of teachers' self-efficacy and decrease their anxiety levels, the authorities brought together exemplary good practices and right role models with teachers; Suggestions have been developed to establish a continuous performance evaluation system for teachers.
