Abstract (EN)
In this study, the relationship between teachers' positive psychological capital perceptions and their burnout perceptions was investigated. The sample of this research in the relational survey model consists of 365 teachers working in public primary and secondary schools in Zonguldak province and its districts in the 2021-2022 academic year. Simple random sampling method was used in the study. Research data were collected with the "Positive Psychological Capital Scale" and the "Maslach Burnout Scale". Arithmetic mean, t-Test, ANOVA, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data. The research shows that teachers' positive psychological capital perceptions are at a very high level. In addition, while teachers' general positive psychological capital perception levels do not differ significantly according to gender, age and professional seniority, they differ significantly according to gender and age in the sub-dimensions of positive psychological capital. The research shows that teachers' burnout perceptions are at a low level. The general burnout perception of teachers differs significantly according to gender, age and professional seniority. Correlation analysis of the study showed that there is a significant inverse relationship between teachers' positive psychological capital perceptions and teachers' burnout perceptions. There is a negative, low and significant relationship between positive psychological capital and emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, which are sub-dimensions of burnout. Besides, a negative, moderate and significant relationship was found between positive psychological capital and low personal achievement, which is another sub-dimension of burnout. In the study, it was concluded that positive psychological capital perception significantly predicted organizational burnout. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that taking measures to increase teachers' positive psychological capital perception will help reduce the perception of burnout.
