The examination of teachers' proactive personality, psychological well-being and professional satisfaction levels in terms of various demographic variables

Three aims were pursued in this study. It was aimed to examine teachers' proactivity, psychological well-being and professional satisfaction levels in terms of demographic variables, to examine the relationships between teachers' proactivity, psychological well-being and professional satisfaction levels, and to examine the predictive status of proactivity and professional satisfaction on psychological well-being. The study group of the research consists of 162 teachers reached through Google Forms. "Abbreviated Proactivity Scale", "Psychological Well-being Scale", "Professional Satisfaction Scale" and "Personal Information Form" were used to collect data. Independent Sample t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analysis, significant positive relationships were found between proactivity, psychological well-being and professional satisfaction variables. As a result of the regression analysis, it was concluded that proactivity and professional satisfaction explained 47.4% of the psychological well-being level of teachers. In terms of demographic variables, it was determined that the proactivity variable differed according to age, seniority and number of close friends; the psychological well-being variable differed according to the number of close friends and the status of being a teacher-administrator; and the professional satisfaction variable differed according to age, seniority, number of close friends and the status of working in hometown-abroad. When the demographic variables of gender, marital status, school level and the frequency of applying to a psychological counselor for problems encountered were examined, it was seen that there was no difference in any variable of the study.
