Investigation of the relationship between lei̇sure time participation barriers and professional burnout levels in teachers participation in recreative activities

As a result of the research, it was revealed that teachers working in Turgutlu district faced barriers of leisure time participation and experienced professional burnout. The sample of the study consists of 577 teachers working in primary school (130), secondary school (182) and high school (265) in Turgutlu district of Manisa. Of the teachers participating in the research, (303) were male and (274) were female. Volunteer teachers participating in the study "Leisure Barrier Scale" Gürbüz et al. (2012) and "Maslach Burnout Scale" Ergin (1992). Statistical analysis of the data was performed with SPSS20 program. The findings were discussed in the perspective of leisure time barrier and professional burnout level. Independent t test and Anova t test were used together with descriptive statistics. Pearson correlation test was used to determine the relationship between teachers' leisure time disability and occupational burnout level. As a result of the analysis, the teachers' marital status, age, occupational seniority, type of school and leisure activities activities according to the status of leisure disability scale (p <.05); It was found that there were significant differences in terms of occupational burnout scale according to age, occupational seniority, type of school and leisure activities (p <.05). According to the results of the correlation analysis between the teachers' leisure time disability and occupational burnout levels, a positive and low level relationship was found (scale average r: 0.140, p <.01). As a result of the study, it was found that teachers working in Turgutlu district faced barriers of free time participation in their participation in recreational activities and experienced professional burnout.
