Abstract (EN)

The importance of dye removal processes is increasing day by day. Wastewater pollution from dyestuffs poses a serious problem due to the developing technology and the need for industrial dyestuffs and increased toxicity of dyestuffs. Adsorption when mixed with other dye removal methods; is an effective method due to its ease of use, environmental friendliness, insensitivity to toxic pollutants, ability to process concentrated paint waste, reusability of used adsorbent, no harmful by-product, high efficiency, and low cost. More efficient results can be obtained if an accurate and cost-effective adsorbent substance is found. In this study, adsorption method is preferred for dye removal, natural, inexpensive, easily available, ground powdered olive stones are used as adsorbent for dyeing methyl violet. In adsorption studies; The effects of pH, adsorbent dose, contact time, initial concentration and temperature on adsorption were investigated. Optimum conditions; are pH 7, contact time 90 minutes, adsorbent dose 0.25 mg / L and temperature 27 oC. It has been observed that the adsorption efficiency decreases as a result of increasing the temperature, that is, the adsorption process is exothermic. According to the results, it was determined that the adsorption fits the Langmuir equilibrium isotherm model and Pseudo 2nd degree equation. As a result of the studies, it was calculated that the adsorption efficiency is 96%. In the study, it is very important to obtain high efficiency in the adsorption process since the grinded olive seed powder used as natural adsorbent can be obtained easily and with low cost.
