Abstract (EN)

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus and Eucalyptus camaldulensis DEHNH) is a plant species with economic and industrial importance. Eucalyptus is cultivated for its nectar and pollen in the production of honey, and they have an important potential in the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics, and paper industries due to their oils. Low seed germination, poor vegetative multiplication from cuttings, incompatibility, and poor setting of grafting are main problems in the multiplication of eucalyptus seedlings. The micropropagation method is a helpful alternative method for the vegetative propagation of eucalyptus species. The results showed, no regeneration from the E. camaldulensis species. The best surface disinfectant for the seeds of E. globulus plant species was 20 minutes treated 5% Sodium hypochlorite. The results concluded that the IBA-containing MS medium promoted plant growth and development more compared to the IBA-free MS medium. In this study, shoot formation, their length, number of developing shoots, root formation, number of developing roots, and their length were compared on MS medium having 0.25, 0.75, 1.25, and 1.75 mg L-1 IBA. The maximum percentage of shoot induction per explant (89%), number of root counts per explant (3.93), and root length per explant (4.12 cm) were noted on MS medium having 1.75 mg L-1 IBA. The highest number of 1.33 shoots per explant was noted on MS medium containing 0.75 mg L-1 IBA. The longest induced shoots of 6.75 cm were counted on MS medium containing 0.25 mg L-1 IBA. All of the regenerated shoots induced roots without any difficulty. Furthermore, the results of the study verified significant and dissimilar influences of the concentration of IBA dose on the morphological response of the explants. No positive improvement was observed in the explants used as control treatment. According to the results obtained, IBA verified existence of a positive response in the regeneration of E. camaldulensis. The study results will have influence on the commercial production of this plant species.
