Özet (EN)

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common type of heart disease. It is the leading cause of death in the world in developed and developing countries. CAD is mainly due to the complications of atherosclerosis and a complex degenerative disease that causes reduced or absent blood flow in one or more of the large and medium-sized muscular arteries that encircle and supply the heart. Atherosclerosis is a pathological process in which preventing normal blood flow by blocking vessel lumen because of the accumulation lipid particles. Oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction and inflammation, mainly play a role in the development and progression of atherosclerosis. We included 125 patients which have applied coronary angiography, in our study. We categorized the participants into control (n:62) and case (n:63) groups according to the presence and absence of a CAD. In the study, we examined participants serum MDA, AOPP and IL-6, HA levels of the differences between the groups. As the result of study, serum MDA and AOPP levels were not statistically significantly different between the patients and control group. In the patients group serum levels of IL-6 and HA were significantly increased compared to control group. As a result, HA and IL-6 levels could be used as markers in the early diagnosis of coronary artery disease. We suggest that, for the detection of the relationship between CAD and MDA and AOPP levels with independent of other risk factors, multiplexed and a large scale studies are necessary. Key Words: Coronary Artery Disease, Atherosclerosis, Oxidative stress, MDA, AOPP, Inflammation, IL-6, HA.
