Defining the degre of school-parent associations' doing duties

This survey was done in the official primary schools to Istanbul Kartal Principality of Education, to define to what extent school-parent associations do their duties and whether these extents vary according to the principal, teacher and parent opinions. The scope of this research covers all the primary schools in Istanbul. However, working surrounding contains the principals, teachers and parent in official primary schools assigned to Istanbul Kartal Principality of Education. 10 official schools (%20) were determined out of 50 A type schools suitable to the objective sampling. All of the principals and teacher and %10 of the parents out of the guessed coming in the schools were taken as the test subjects. Of all the questionnaries applied in the given 10 schools; 470 of the parents, 265 of the teachers and all of the principals returned. Out of the 470, 5 hadn't been completed and 3 weren't taken into considerations since more that 2 choices had been selected. İn this survey, questionnaire method was wed as a means of collecting data. Likert type scale was used and all of the questions were positive. Principals, teachers and parent used the heading of "Always", "Frequently", "Sometimes", "Rarely" and "Never" to show their considerations. The questionnaire has 2 sections. İn the first section there are questions about the identitical specifications of the principal, teachers and parents without names. 17 questions are placed in the second section. The appropriateness of the questionnaires developed by Şişman was considered. İn order to define the degree of the application of duties meant in the questions arithmetical average and standard changings of each question are done and variance analysis and Tukey HSD ters were appied to show the differences between among groups, 17 tables were arranged for the former aim and 34 tables for the latter one. The results are; 1. The duties of OAB ( school-parent association) are applied " Sometimes" according to the groups of principal (X=3,26) and parent (X=2,92), whereas "Rarely" for the group of teachers ( X = 2,29 ). 2. An important difference of p<.05 was found between the perseptions of principal, teacher and parent groups in the subject of OAB' s duteis in the regulations. XI
