Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the current situation regarding school-family collaboration based on the opinions of parents and classroom teachers, identifying the factors that hinder school-family collaboration and their opinions and suggestions regarding their solutions, and reaching the benefits provided by school-family collaboration. The research study group consists of 30 classroom teachers and 60 parents working in public schools in Sakarya province in the 2022-2023 academic year. In the research, the multiple case study model of the case study design, one of the qualitative research designs, was used, and the semi-structured interview form was used as the data collection tool. The study is a case study because it includes the teacher-parent relationship within the school. This study was conducted using the content analysis method, one of the qualitative data analysis techniques. Based on the data obtained from the findings of the study, it is inferred that both classroom teachers and parents agree on the necessity of school-family cooperation to support the positive development of the student. However, it is also foreseen that communication between the school and families has weakened due to various mutual factors, which in turn negatively affects the effectiveness of this cooperation. The opinions of parents and class teachers were evaluated from various perspectives in the interviews conducted in order to eliminate this disruption. While the teachers stated that the parents should participate and support the meetings and activities more, the parents also stated that they wanted to participate but that the school and teachers should provide sufficient information and provide the necessary conditions.
