Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to "examine the relationship between school principals' empowering leadership behaviours and teachers' self-efficacy". The research was conducted using "relational survey model". The population of the study consists of teachers in primary and secondary education institutions affiliated to Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education. The sample consists of 390 (204 female + 186 male) healthy individuals selected by convenience sampling method from this population. "Personal Information Form", "Empowering Leadership Scale" and "Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale" were used as data collection tools. In statistical analyses; independent groups t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation analyses were used. When the research findings were analysed, it was found that there was a significant difference in the empowering leadership scores of the participants according to the variables of age, educational level, marital status, seniority and school location; however, there was no significant difference according to the variables of gender and educational level. A significant difference was found in the self-efficacy scores of the participants according to the variables of gender, age, educational level, marital status, years of seniority, educational level and location of the school. A positive, moderately significant relationship was found between the participants' empowering leadership levels and self-efficacy levels. It can be stated that 17% of the total variance of self-efficacy is explained by empowering leadership. As a result; it can be said that as the participants' empowering leadership levels increase, their self-efficacy levels increase.
