Examination of the relationship between school principals' management and communication skills according to teacher's opinions

In the study, it was aimed to determine the communication and management skills of school principals working at different education levels according to their teacher perceptions. In addition, it was aimed to determine whether there is a significant relationship between school principals' communication skills and management skills according to teachers' perceptions. In addition to these purposes, the aim of the study is to determine whether there is a significant difference between teachers' perceptions of school principals' communication skills and management skills according to the variables of gender, education level, professional seniority, school type, number of students and teachers in the school. In line with the stated purposes, the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research designs, was preferred in the research. The sample of the research consists of teachers working at various educational levels in Gaziantep in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 486 teachers who were determined by the "Simple Random Sampling" method, which is one of the probability-based sampling types among the teachers in the universe. "Personal Information Form", "Communication Competencies Scale" and "Management Skills Scale" were used to collect data in the research. Since the data collected with the data collection tools in the study showed normal distribution, they were analyzed using arithmetic mean and standard deviation calculations, Unrelated Samples t-Test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Regression. In the study, it was concluded that the level of communication skills and management skills of school principals working at various educational levels was high according to teacher perceptions. In addition, according to the perceptions of the teachers in the research, it was concluded that there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between the communication skills of school principals and their management skills.
