Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the present study is to develop a valid and reliable Good Manners (Etiquette Behaviors) Scale 'parent form' that will contribute to the social skills, moral and cultural development of children attending preschool education. For this purpose, firstly, an item pool (300) was formed. Then, surface and content validity analyses were conducted based on the opinions of the experts. After the analyses, the remaining 97 items under 7 dimensions were applied to a total of 650 parents in the form of a trial form. SPSS 27.0 statistics program was used in the analysis of the data obtained at the end of the application. The measurement power of each item in the scale was determined by examining the item-total correlation, and 52 items with low reliability were removed from the scale. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis conducted to determine the construct validity of the scale, a structure consisting of 5 dimensions and 45 items with five factors that explained 49.88% of the total variance and was considered as statistically significant. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient obtained from the overall scale was calculated as 0.89. In this form, it can be said that the scale is found highly reliable. Recommendations were made for future studies.
