Investigation of studies on emotion regulation skills in preschool children

In this study, it was aimed to reveal the general tendencies of the scientific articles, master's and doctoral theses published in Turkey between 2013-2021 on emotion regulation skills in preschool children. In the research, the studies recorded in the computer environment in pdf format were evaluated with the document analysis model, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The data were collected through the prepared analysis form. In this form, researches; Type, year of publication, number of authors, branches of science, methods, samples, number of children in the sample, age groups of children and data collection tools used in research are included. For this research, Google Academic and YÖK Thesis Center databases were searched with the keywords of emotion regulation, emotion regulation skill and preschool period. 60 studies that met the specified criteria were reviewed. The data were analyzed with the SPSS25 package program. The findings obtained as a result of the examination are shown with percentage and frequency tables. According to the results of the research, the most postgraduate theses on the subject were made, the studies increased as of 2019, the research articles were mostly with two and three authors, the theses were mostly made in the Department of Preschool Education, the most relational scanning method was used as the research method, the sample group was It was seen that only children were taken most often, the number of children in the sample was between 101-200 at most, the age groups of children were mostly 5-6 years old, and the most used data collection tool was the Emotion Regulation Checklist.
