Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between social competence skills and play behaviors of 36-71 months old children attending pre-school education. The research was completed with 323 children attending kindergarten affiliated to Sivas Provincial Directorate of National Education between 01.01.2020/31.12.2020. "Personal Information Form", "Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation-30 Scale" and "Play Behavior Scale for 36-71 Month-old Children" were used as data collection tools in the research. In order to conduct the research, institutional permissions were obtained with the approval of the ethics committee. The collected data were evaluated with the SPSS statistical program. The relationships between the students' Social Competency Behavior Rating Scale and Game Behavior Scale sub-dimensions and their total scores were tested by correlation analysis. The p≤.05 value was considered statistically significant in all analyzes. According to the findings of the study, play behaviors and social competence levels of 36-71 months old children; It shows significant differences according to age, gender, number of siblings, birth order, mother and father education level, parental union, being alive or not, and the situation of the house in which they live. According to the results of the analysis of the relationship between children's play behaviors and social competency levels, there were significant differences between the sub-dimensions of social competency and the sub-dimensions of play behavior. A significant relationship was found between the total scores of the social competence scale and the total scores of the game behavior scale.
