Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to examine the impact of the self-regulation training program prepared for 60-72 months old children attending preschool education institutions on the self-regulation and social skills of children. A self-regulation training program was developed within the scope of the research. The study group of the research consists of 36 children including ,18 in the control group and 18 in the experimental group, who attend the preschools of two primary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2020-2021 academic year. In the research, a semi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was used. The Self-Regulation Training Program developed by the researcher was applied to the experimental group once a week for eight weeks. As a data collection tool in the research; "Personal Information Form", "Preschool Social Skills Assessments Scale -PSSAS" and "Preschool Self-Regulation Scale- PSRA" were used. "Personal Information Form" and "PSSAS- Teacher Evaluation Form" were filled by the classroom teachers for the experimental and control groups as a pre-test before the training program was implemented, and the "Preschool Self-Regulation Assessments- PSRA" was applied to all children in the experimental and control groups one to one by the researcher. After the application of the eight-week training program to the experimental group, the measurement tools were filled and applied again by the teacher and the researcher to the experimental and control groups as a post test. After three weeks, in order to measure the permanence of the post test application, the permanence test was applied to the experimental group. The Mann-Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, which are non-parametric tests, were used to determine the effect of the education applied to the children participating in the Self-Regulation Education Program. As a result of the research; it has been determined that the Self-Regulation Education Program has a positive effect on children's self-regulation and social skill acquisition. In line with the data obtained, it is stated that the reformed training for the researchers can be applied for a longer time and more frequently in order to increase the permanence of the training; for educators it is suggested that they can use the Self-Regulation Education Program to improve children's self-regulation and social skills.
