Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to reveal the views of teachers and administrators regarding the problems and solution suggestions related to auxiliary staff in preschool education institutions. This research is a qualitative study and a multiple holistic case design was used. The study group of the research consists of 10 preschool teachers and 10 school administrators working in pre-school education schools in Muratpaşa, Kepez and Serik districts of Antalya province in the 2023-2024 academic year. The study group of the research was selected according to the maximum variation sampling method. The participants were interviewed individually. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. At the result of the research, it was concluded that the problems experienced by teachers and administrators in preschool education institutions regarding auxiliary staff are the way of employing auxiliary staff, the lack of auxiliary staff and the student safety anxiety resulting from this deficiency, economic problems, taking on extra duties and responsibilities, increase of work, being busy, disruption in work and loss of time. At the result of the research, suggestions of increasing the number of auxiliary staff employment as a long-term and permanent solution to the problems related to auxiliary staff by teachers and administrators, state and permanent employment of auxiliary staff, employing auxiliary staff with work qualifications, continuity of auxiliary staff working through İŞKUR in the school, providing child development, communication, first aid and hygiene training seminars or courses to auxiliary staff, ensuring the employment of personnel such as security and office personnel as well as cleaning personnel, creation of mobile teams by national education directorates for garden landscaping, maintenance, repair, renovation and health checks, providing economic support for the employment of auxiliary staff in schools with insufficient budgets, notification of work to auxiliary staff have been presented.
