Abstract (EN)

11 ABSTRACT The current research has been done to study the early childhood inclusive education in the pre-school education in general. The sampling of this study are 45 pre-school teachers who thought in the educational institutions, belonging to the Ministery of National Education, in which early childhood inclusive education applications were carried on throughout 2003- 2004 education year in Ankara. Since the number of the pre-school educational institutions in which early childhood inclusive education are carried on were limited in the region on which the study is carried on, all of them were included in the sampling. In order to determine the opinions of the teaachers who participated in this research on the early childhood inclusive education, the Inquary Form prepared by the researcher, "The Determination Form of The Assessment and Applications&Realization of The inclusive education competencies of The Teachers" and "The Scale For Teachers Attitude Towards inclusive education in early years " were used. Among the findings of this study are that, in general, the teachers involved in the questionnaire think that they partially utilize early childhood inclusive classroom activities and consider themselves as qualified enogh on the subject. It has also been found out that, while most of the teachers, took part in this study, consider themselves adequate in the guidance of the pupils throughout the educational activities, they consider themselves inadequate in the eduucational environments and material disposition in the inclusive classes.Ill Some of the other important findings of the study axe that, while most of the teachers consider themselves qualified enough in activities on nature and sciece, they saw themselves not qualified enough in mathematical activities. Considering the findings of this study, it is suggested that in order to change the teachers' attitude against to the children with special needs and in order to enhance teacher's adequacy against to the inclusion process the quality and the quantity of the "on-job-training" programs should be increased.
