Abstract (EN)
In this study the level of 5-6 year preschool children's social skills are investigated in terms of gender, age, number of siblings, birth order, education level of parents', parents' level of social skills, parents' state spending time with their children, mother's employment status and education level of social skills of parents, parents' own level of social skills and mother's social skills according to her employment status. This study, which is based on quantitative method in correlational survey model, was carried out with 5-6 year children in pre-school in Malatya province in the academic year of 2010-2011 and with their parents and teachers. In this study, 357 mothers, 357 fathers and the views of the teachers' via The Scale of Social Skill about level of social skills were used to determine level of 357 cildren's social skills. That's why, the study group of the research consists of parents, teachers, and 357 children 5-6 years old. In the study, the The Scale of Social Skill adapted by Poyraz Tüy and Akçamete (1999) were used for parents and teachers to determine level of social skills of the children. Also, the Social Skill Envantory, adapted into Turkish by Yüksel (2000), was used to determine level of social skills of parents. The Personal Information Form was used to determine demographical features of the participants . We used SPSS 21 to analyze data of the research. Mean, pearson's correlation coefficient, T-test for comparasion of two groups, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for more groups were used for descriptive analysis. According to the research result, there isn't significant differences on perception of parents social skills in terms of gender but there is a significant difference in perception of teachers about social skills, and also there isn't significant differences of gender and siblings on perception of children's social skills according to the parents and teachers. According to the birth order, the child rank number two has more social skill than other children, there isn't significant differences according to the perceptions of teachers. It is seen that there is significant difference in positive way among parents' own social skills. There is a positive relation between perception of father and mother in evelation social skills. There is a significant difference on children's social skills according to between university graduate mothers and highschool graduate mothers. There isn't a significant difference on children's social skills according to level of education of fathers. There is a significant difference on children's social skills according to level of mother's social skills and sons and daughters' social skills. According to fathers and sons and daughters' social skills, there is no significant difference in social skills but there is a significant difference in children's social skills according to fathers and sons' social skills in positive way. According to variance of the gathering of children with others, there isn't a significant difference in children's social skills. According to mothers' perception; there is a significant difference in a positive way for children who has more time with mothers. There isn't a significant difference according to children's social skills according to fathers' perception of social skills of children. I is seen that the more the level of education of parents rises, the more the children's social skills rise. It is seen that working mothers and their children's level of social skills are significantly higher than not working mothers and their children's. According to the result of reseach, it has been made some suggestions.
