Examination of science concepts in preschool "El Ele I,II,III Eğitim Seti" books

In this research, it is aimed to examine the science concepts in the "El Ele Okul Öncesi Eğitime I-II-III Eğitim Seti" books used in preschool education. In the research process, the document review method, which is one of the qualitative research approaches, was used. As the data collection tool, the book review template developed by the researcher and the Inclusion of Concepts situation chart in the preschool education program was used. The findings obtained as a result of the research were subjected to descriptive and content analysis. Research results are presented in tables through frequency and percentage. As a result of the research, concepts, and sub-concepts related to life, earth and space, and physical sciences were determined. When the science concepts were examined according to their usage areas, it was determined that they were used mostly in concept teaching and least in attention and pattern studies. It is seen that science concepts are widely included in all training sets. Considering the situations in which scientific process skills are included, it has been determined that all process skills are included. When the research results on developmental areas are examined, it is seen that social-emotional and self-care skills are not sufficiently included. When the results of the methods and techniques used in concept teaching were examined, it was determined that the methods of expression and problem solving were generally included. It can be stated that the results of the research will contribute to the field of pre-school education.
