Evaluation of preschool Quran course curriculum in terms of program development

Abstract (EN)

This study was prepared to evaluate on the preschool education teachers' views about the 4-6 Age Group Quranic Course Education Programme which was first implemented in the school year of 2013-2014. It's aimed to provide more effective and productive education and training activities at the Courses of the Qur'an for children of 4-6 ages, which are expected to fill an important gap in the field of religious education. This research is a descriptive study aims to determine the current situation. For this purpose, a questionnaire was administered to the teachers of the Qur'anic Courses in İzmir that was one of the pilot cities, in 2017-2018 academic year and the data obtained through interviews with some course tutorials were evaluated. The obtained data were analysed using appropriate SPSS statistical tests. Reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was estimated by using Cronbach alpha internal consistency coefficient and the resulting value was 0,918. As a result, it was found that the tutorials had some deficiencies in pedagogic formation, but generally, the curriculum was appropriate for the level of the students. Furthermore, it is noticed that the learning environment of the Quranic courses had some physical inadequates.
