The relationship between environmental ethical attitudes and responsible environmental behaviors of pre-school teacher candidates

The aim of this study was to determine the environmental behavior levels of preschool teacher candidates and their relationship with the environment and to determine the environmental behavior levels of the teachers in relation to the environment according to their descriptive characteristics. For the purpose, data collection tools consisting of personal information form, environmental attitudes scale and environmental behavior scale were applied to 400 teachers who studied at Kastamonu University Faculty of education preschool teaching department in 20172018 academic year. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 statistical program. As a result of this study, it was determined that pre-school teacher candidates have a moderate human-centered ethical approach and ecofeminist ethical approach, and have a high level of environmental-centered, religious ethical approach and general environmental approach. It has been determined that pre-school teacher candidates have a low level of individual and community persuasion behavior, a high level of physical protection behavior and a moderate level of political and legal behavior and general environmental behavior. It was found that there was a significant relationship between environmental ethical attitudes and responsible environmental behaviors of pre-service teachers and environmental ethical attitude predicted responsible environmental behaviors. Teacher candidates in their classrooms, teaching status (day-night), gender, grade point averages,, for the environment according to the situation to be able to sacrifice the standard of living of differentiation in ethical approaches to the environment, to the high school they graduated from, university to take courses related to their status in the environment, the environment of being able to sacrifice the standard of living for their state, social media page don't follow about the environment of responsible environmental behavior differences in thinking that are revealed.
