Analysis of the relationship between preschool candidate teachers' the professional attitudes and personal values

In this survey , the relationship between preschool teacher candidate?sthe profession attitudes and personel values is analysed. The working group of the reaserch consists of 143 female and 13 male students studying in the undergraduate program of the preschool teacher department of 5 universities. The datum of the reasearch are obtained by two different kinds of data gathering tools called ?Perspective to the Teaching Profession Attitude Scale? and ?Personel Values Scale? for university students. Personel Information Form is used for the personel information belonging to students. Analyzing the data which is obtained by data gathering tools in the research is performed by using ?SPSS (16) for Windows? package program in a computer environment.According to the findings obtained; teacher candidates have positiveattitudes towards the profession. A meaningful relationship in the negative direction between personal values and attitudes towards the profession was found. Besides, A meaningful relationship was found in the negative direction between attitudes towards teaching profession and the ?Self-Control? which is the sub-dimension of personal values. Between the sub-dimensions of ?Self-Control? and ?Social skills? ; a significant relation in positive way was attained. A meaningful relationship between the dimensions ?Self-Control? and ?Honesty? was found in the negative way. A meaningful relationship in positive way was also found between the sub-dimensions ?Being an intellectual? and ?Honesty?.On the other hand; There was no a meaningful relationship in the variabilities of the candidates? gender , type of high school , university education , educational level of their parents .Key words: Preschool Education, attidute , personal value
