Organizational commitment and behavioral perceptions of preschool teachers

In the present study, it was aimed to examine organizational commitment levels andorganizational citizenship levels of preschool teachers according to various variables. A total of 254 preschool teachers were included in the study. In the determination of organizational commitment levels of the prospective teachers participating in the research "Organizational Commitment Scale" was utilized and "Organizational Citizenship Scale" was used to determine organizational citizenship levels of prosspective teachers. Kruskal Wallis H analysis and Mann Whitney U analysis were used in SPSS 22.0 data analysis program in the statistical analysis of the data obtained in the study. As a result of the study, it was determined that preschool teachers' organizational commitment levels were moderate, besides, organizational commitment levels showed statistically significant difference according to employment types and education levels. On the other hand, it was found that the level of organizational commitment did not show statistically significant differences according to the age group and occupational seniority variables. Preschool teachers' organizationalcitizenship behavior demonstration levels were found to be above the moderate level. The level of organizational citizenship behaviors demonstration showed statistically significant difference according to the occupational seniority variable, whereas the statistically significant difference was not found according to age group, education level and employment types. On the other hand, there was a statistically significant and positive relationship between organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. As a result of the study, it was determined that preschool teachers' organizational commitment levels were moderate, besides, organizational commitment levels showed statistically significant difference according to employment types and education levels. Preschool teachers' organizational citizenship behavior demonstration levels were found to be above the moderate level. On the other hand, there was a statistically significant and positive relationship between organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. As a result, it can be uttered that organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviors in preschool teachers differ significantly according to demographic variables, and as organizational commitment level increases, organizational citizenship behavior also increases.
