Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to explain that the imaginative and creative thinking ability of the child can be stimulated in the illustrated children's books prepared for preschool children and it is explained that the stylized illustration can contribute to the development of imagination with the conceptual, scientific findings and theories of various experts with visual examinations related to the field. In the study, child development and cognitive development were examined and the importance of creativity and imaginary thinking in children's cognitive development process was emphasized. The development of creativity in the child has been examined in stages and the imaginary expression behavior of the preschool child as mental representation has been evaluated through the analysis of the picture samples. Illustrations in children's picture books, which are widely used in child development, have been evaluated as the main factor stimulating creativity and imaginary thought, and how stylized illustration influences preschool children in giving a creative visual expression of various messages is explained. In the context of the study, a practice has been made and evaluated for the purpose of the study and has been tried to be an example of preschool children's book illustration area by designing a book and creating an illustration set include 10 pieces of artworks in a stylized approach.
