Okul Psikolojik Danışmanlarının Kriz Durumlarıyla İlişkili Bazı Niteliklerinin İncelenmesi

Today, children and young people in the school age are confronted at any time with spontaneous/natural crisis and human-made crisis situations. In addition to spontaneous/natural crisis situations such as flood, hose, earthquake accident and death, it is frequently encountered by human-made/ human handed crisis situations such as peer violence, substance dependence, anger control, communication disorder, harassment, rape, abuse, violence. In addition to these, developmental crises, parental divorces, war, terror and accidents are some of the crises that children and young people are exposed. In addition to these, natural/ spontaneous and environmental crises can be also depended on rapid changes in living conditions, globalization, multiculturalism, and especially the development of the internet technology are causing the crisis. To prevent and improve the crisis that children and young people need to be an inıtial intervention which by school counselors. The population and sample of this reseven are school counselors wjo work in state secondary school in TRNC, This research investigated with age, gender, working school type, educational status, last years in occupation, working countries, crisis-taking lessons, crisis encountering condition and crisis-related courses variables crisis situations and their ability to cope with crisis situations. Quantitative research method was used in the present study. In the present study, “Coping Strategies Used in Crisis Intervention Scale" ınventory, that is developed by Otlu (2011) and “Personal Informatıon Form” that is developed by researcher was used for collecting data. For analyzing the data Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis were used. The findings of the present study indicated that are based on crisis situations in the last 6 months, such as parental divorce, school change, peer for instance violence, authority problems, violence have been frequently encountered. According to the findings of present study, school counselers were found as a good in social support, evaluation of crisis situation, acquining coping skills and constituting social network. Moreover, the present study did not find a significant difference between the skill level of acquiring coping skills according to same variables. Those are "Age", "Working School Type", “Educational Status”, "Last Years in Occupation", "Working Countries", "Crisis-taking Lessons" and "Crisis Encountering Condition". Furthermore the findings that there is a significant difference between gender in the level of the sub-dimension of "Constituting Social Network“ thus male school counsellors were found to be better in the sub-dimension. Also, with respect to attending crisis-related courses finding show that theres is as a significant difference between the level of "Providings Social Support", "Acquiring Coping Skills According". In all dimensions scale there is a significant different with respect to attending crisis related course. This difference due the attending of crisis related curriculum showed that the school counsellors who participated in the course were better at these dimensions.
