Investigation of level of state-trait anxiety of sporters, who receive education at faculty of sport sciences and do team or individual sports

It is thought that the anxiety of sporter increases before match or during match, due to the fact that sports competitions are very important for sporter in terms of material and nonmaterial.The level of anxiety of sporter has an important effect on sport performance. So, overcoming anxiety is very critical for raising sporting achievement. A total of 319 student athletes, 130 women and 189 men, participated in this study. In the research universe of this study, the data of student athletes competing in youth A and youth B categories in school sports studying in high schools in Çukurova, Seyhan, Sarıçam and Yüreğir district of Adana province were analyzed. Within the scope of this study, surveys were administered to the participants. The data obtained from the researches were analyzed with IBM SPSS 25.0 v. Also, We used Kolmogorov Smirnov, Shapiro Wilk, Mann Whitney U testi, Kruskal-Wallis, Post Hoc Dunn Z, Spearman Korelasyon for analyzing. We remark that the state and trait anxiety of sporters are examined according to age, gender, branch, the year of doing sport, individual sports, team sports.It was conclued that the state anxiety scores of school team athletes differ according yo the athlete's age, gender, branch and years of sports. In addition, although the trait anxiety scores of the athletes diffired according tothe athlete's branch and gender, it was found that they did not differ according to the athlete's age and years of doing sports.
