The vision of imam hatip high school students according to the school administrators

Nowadays, the concept of vision is not only used in organizations that carry out economic activities; but also it is often used to survive and fulfill its functions in science, the arts ,non govermental organizations , and especially in educational institutions. As in the vision of any other educational institution, the human profile which has the qualifications that Imam Hatip High Schools, one of the most established institutions in our education system, wants to train in its vision , occupies an important place. In this research, it is aimed to scientifically determine what kind of vision that the students of Imam Hatip High School have, according to the the opinions of school administrators, one of the most important stakeholders of Imam Hatip High Schools. In this context, the research was structured in qualitative research model in order to obtain more detailed data on the subject. The study group consisted of 29 school administrators working in 12 Imam Hatip High Schools in the central districts of Malatya province as of the 2018-2019 academic year. The data were obtained through a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher and these data were subjected to descriptive and content analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that the school administrators attributed various characteristics regarding the vision of Imam Hatip High School Students in terms of cognitive, moral, political/ideological, cultural, professional and belief structure. In this respect, the profile reflected in the Imam Hatip students' vision of school administrators is cognitively self-recognizing, expressing, conscious, aware of its objectives, questioning and thinking scientifically, producing solutions to problems, adapting to the age, innovative, successful, sensitive to society and leading features. It reflects the belief in monotheism as a structure of faith, applies what it believes in life, and has qualities that respect different opinions. Morally, it is honest, helpful, respectful, tolerant, loving, role model, aware of universal moral principles, tied to national and spiritual values and it reflects the morality of the Qur'an and the prophet. Ideologically, it advocates an opinion that tied to its country, nation, state and ummah. Culturally it has the characteristics of a person participating in artistic activities, studying, observing and travelling. It is an examplary professional who is open to the development, has professional competence, produces, conducts its profession responsibly.
