Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the emotion management competencies of school administrators and their decision-making styles. The sample of the study consists of 435 teachers working in public schools in Sakarya province in the 2020-2021 academic year, selected through simple and random sampling. The research is descriptive research and was carried out using the relational survey model. The personal information form was developed to collect information about teachers' gender, age, marital status, professional seniority, and educational status. In the research, "Emotional Intelligence Levels in Business Life" subscale, which is a subscale of "Emotional Intelligence Levels in Business Life" developed by "Titrek (2004), and Decision-Making Styles developed by Scott and Bruce (1995) and adapted into Turkish by Taşdelen (2002). scale is used. Along with the Personal Information form, all the data obtained to measure the FDI decision-making styles of managers were analyzed with Statistics Program for Social Sciences. According to the results of the research, school administrators' emotional management competencies were found to be at a high level (X̄=4.05). FDI of school administrators was found to be higher among female teachers. According to the teachers, the FDI of school administrators working in high schools was found to be higher than those working in primary schools. According to their tenure, FDI was found to be higher for teachers with 1-3 years of tenure than teachers with a tenure of 4-6 years. It was determined that it did not change significantly according to their marital status, age, number of teachers in their current schools, education level, seniority, and working time with their current administrators. The mean of the RVVS sub-dimension (high level), the mean of the HRVS sub-dimension (high level), the mean of the HRVS sub-dimension (high level), the mean of the CBVS sub-dimension (low level), the mean of the CAMVS sub-dimension (low level), and the overall mean of the scale (intermediate level). According to the gender variable of school administrators' decision-making styles, SKVS and BKVS sub-dimensions were found to be higher in female teachers than male teachers. It was determined that the BKVS averages of school administrators between the ages of 20-30 were lower than the averages of school administrators between the ages of 41-50. It has been determined that the average of the RCVS of the teachers who have 31-40 teachers in the school they work in is higher than the average of the teachers who have 11-20 teachers in the school where they work. It has been determined that the rational decision-making style averages of the participants who have served between 11-15 years according to their professional seniority are lower than the averages of the participants who have served between 16-20 years in the profession. Differences according to marital status, school type, tenure at their current school, educational status and working time with the current administrator: It was observed that decision-making styles did not change significantly in each sub-dimension and overall scale. There are highly positive correlations between FDI and RVVS sub-dimensions, moderately positive correlations between HRVS, HRVS sub-dimensions and overall CVS scale, and moderately negative significant correlations between CUVS and RVVS sub-dimensions. FDI variable predicts KKVS variable negatively, statistically significantly. Keywords: Emotion Management, Decision Making Style, School, Manager
