Abstract (EN)
Job satisfaction and relevance of motivation are essential to the long-term growth of any education system in the world. They probably rank as true determinants of educational achievement and performance, along with professional knowledge and skills, center competencies, management styles, training resources, and strategies. However, the management styles in the school it is in have a significant effect on the attitudes and behaviors of the teachers. In addition, job satisfaction and work motivation are very important in the lives of teachers, as they constitute the main reason for working in life. While almost every teacher works to meet their needs, they are affected by the work environment in which they work. The high level of job satisfaction of teachers not only directly affects their own performance but also affects student performance. In this respect, management styles and job satisfaction, which are related to each other, have an indirect effect on the quality of education. In this respect, in this study, an examination was carried out in terms of teachers' job satisfaction levels and the types of management styles of their managers. Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and Management Styles Scale were applied to 305 teachers working in primary and secondary schools in Çekmeköy district of Istanbul. The obtained data were analyzed in the SPSS program. According to the research results teachers' job satisfaction levels were relatively high, and their scores on management styles were moderate. Teachers received higher scores from the Protective and Supportive management style sub-dimensions of the management style sub-dimensions. However, the management style and job satisfaction levels vary according to gender, age, professional seniority, school type, educational status, and years of service at the school they are currently working in.
