Evaluation of educational projects carried out in schools and in the R&G projects unit of the National Education Directorate from different aspects (The example of Malatya)

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the type and intensity of educational projects carried out in schools and in the R&D Project Unit of the Directorate of National Education; It is the evaluation of the problems encountered in getting and executing projects and the institutional, social, cultural, educational, economic benefits provided to schools and the contribution of the executives to the professional and personal development. The study universe of this descriptive research consists of 20 schools selected from different levels in the Malatya Provincial Directorate of National Education R&D Project Unit and the central Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt districts. Purposeful sampling method was used to determine the schools. In this context; Schools of different types and that have carried out many projects were included in the sample. A total of 50 people, including 20 teachers and 20 school administrators who work as project coordinators or consultants in these 20 schools, and 10 officials / experts working in the R&D project unit, constitute the sample of the study. In the research, in which qualitative research method was used, the data were collected via semi-structured interview form. The data obtained in the research, which was designed as a Descriptive / Descriptive Case Study, were subjected to descriptive and content analysis. Descriptive analysis was performed for the personal information about the participants of the research and the data of the projects carried out, and content analysis was made for the data regarding the opinions of the participants. The data of the research were subjected to frequency and evaluative content analysis. As a result of the research; In the last three years of education period in 20 schools of different grades in Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt districts affiliated to Malatya Provincial Directorate of National Education; It has been determined that 43 TÜBİTAK, 18 ERASMUS +, 27 eTwinning, 10 Fırat Development Agencies, 20 local, 5 ministries, 58 schools' own projects and 17 other educational projects have been prepared and carried out. The majority of the teachers and administrators in 20 schools within the scope of the research are willing to carry out projects and the projects carried out; The development of the school is carried out with the desire to provide financing to the school, to increase student success; It was determined that almost all of the participants faced problems in terms of getting and running the educational projects carried out in schools, and the reasons related to the problems were concentrated on the issues of lack of time, involuntary assignments, insufficient grant support, and unwillingness of teachers. It was concluded that the projects carried out contributed to the school in terms of institutional, social, cultural, educational, economic and personal / professional development of the project coordinators. Teachers and administrators participating in the research about project execution; They suggested that teachers should be paid additional fees, the amount of grants provided for projects should be increased, and the project course should be included in the curriculum. In the last three years educational period, under the management of the R&D Unit throughout the province; It was determined that a total of 2780 projects, including 1871 TÜBİTAK, 28 ERASMUS +, 834 ETwinning, 12 Fırat Development Agency, 30 local projects, 3 SOGEP and 2 ministry projects, were prepared and implemented. To the projects carried out; It was concluded that during the project process, information, guidance, technical support and evaluation support was provided. Equal opportunity for projects managed and grafted by R&D officials, improving the institution's capacity, improving academic achievement skills; Covering and management of projects; Contributions such as providing educational materials, classrooms and workshops to the schools were concluded. R&D officials in this process; As a solution to the problems they encountered, they faced problems such as insufficient financial resources, whether teachers encourage students or not, and the administrators and teachers were inexperienced, uninformed and unwilling about the project; They have made suggestions to be in constant contact with the R&D Unit, to carefully select the project execution teams and to make a qualified division of labor, and the administrators to support the teachers who carry out project work. Some suggestions have been made based on the results obtained from the research.
