Abstract (EN)
This study is a quasi-experimental study aiming to investigate the effects of reading, reading, reading, reading motivation and reading comprehension skills on the reading skills of secondary school students. For this purpose, two groups of the fifth grade students of a secondary school in the Battalgazi district of Malatya province were determined as the experimental and control groups. The data of the study were obtained from "Reading Attitude Scale, Reading Motivation Scale and Reading Comprehension and Analysis Scale which were developed by different researchers. The data collection tools were applied as pre-test and post-test to two groups. In the period between the pre-test and the last test, the activities aimed at the reading skills course prepared by the researcher were applied to the experimental group by the researcher. In this period, no control was applied to the control group. The data were analyzed by SPSS 25 package program. The analyzes showed that the activity based reading skills course increased the students' reading motivation but did not make a significant difference in their reading attitudes and reading comprehension and analysis skills.
