Özet (EN)
This study is a qualitative research that aims to analyse rewritten fairy tales in terms of intertextuality and semiotics and to reveal how they can be used in reading activities in the context of Turkish education. The first aim of the study, which is structured in line with three main objectives, is to reveal the intertextual relations between the classical fairy tales written by the Brothers Grimm, Perrault and Aesop and the rewritten versions of these fairy tales called Eşit Masallar and Frederick, and to analyse the similarities and differences between subtext and metatext. The second aim is to make a semiotic analysis of the rewritten fairy tales and to examine through which signs these fairy tales are transformed. The third aim is to show how rewritten fairy tales can be used in reading education through sample syllabuses and activities. Document analysis method was used in the study; structural elements, language and expression, thematic transformations were handled comparatively in intertextual analyses. The analyses show that the rewritten fairy tales establish a balance between loyalty to the source texts and original interpretations, and they have a rich potential in terms of both literary and educational aspects. In addition, the sample activities included in the study offer original practices for the development of students' critical, analytical and creative thinking skills. These activities are designed as pre-reading, during-reading and post-reading based on the outcomes related to intertextuality and semiotics in 2024 The Century of Türkiye Education Model Secondary School Turkish Curriculum. The study makes an original contribution in terms of text selection and use in the context of Turkish education. In the activities, multifaceted acquisitions such as establishing intertextual meaning, semiotic analysis, inquisitive thinking, value transfer and creative production were considered to support students' cognitive, affective and social development.
