Abstract (EN)
Since ancient times, Anatolia has been home to many civilizations because of its underground and aboveground treasures and its location. Thus, Anatolian culture, synthesized by many cultures, is a very rich and unique culture. Jewelry has an important place in this culture. Since ancient times, Jewelry hasn't lost its importance because of various reasons. Jewelry has become a commonly used tool is to fulfill people's needs, such as dolling up, religion, power, superiority and status determination. In the ancient times, jewelry making supplies were mostly organic, but these supplies have changed in a historical process, because gemstones and precious minerals were found. In this work, Oltu stone found in the region around Oltu, the products made by Oltu stone, the tools used for the products manufactured by Oltu stone, and ornamentation techniques were examined. In this examination, it is detached that the products manufactured by Oltu stone are very traditional and not enough to fulfill people's needs and to get their likes which are changing constantly. It was concluded that Oltu Stones, which are manufactured by traditional methods and styles, should be redesigned to appeal to today's people by combining different designs, techniques, and materials as a result of constant technological advancement and the changes of people's needs and likes today in a parallel way. In this work, modern jewelry designs were made by using Oltu stone and the designs were presented in "the supplementary information forms" with pictures.
