Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of the thesis, the use performance of the glue in the corrugated cardboard machine was improved by providing better viscosity stabilization with the starch glue prepared by applying new prescription for the starch based glue used in corrugated cardboard sector. The strength properties of the corrugated board produced with starch-based glue prepared with the new recipe have been increased. Strength gains on corrugated cardboard are 17%, 25%, 12% and 18% for FCT, ECT, BCT and PAT, respectively. Only 0.1 to 0.2% ketone aldehyde and / or polyvinyl alcohol addition to the composition of the starch base glue formulation resulted in a noticeable increase in all strength properties of the corrugated board. The best results in terms of corrugated board properties were obtained with the synergistic effect of 0.1% ketone aldehyde and 0.2% polyvinyl alcohol. The FCT, ECT and BCT values of the corrugated boards produced in this condition were determined as 3.82 kPa, 4.09 kN/m and 2.34 kN, respectively. The best PAT bonding strength was found as 430 N/m for the corrugated board prepared with only 0.2% polyvinyl alcohol addition to base starch glue formulation. In general, it is possible to increase the production speed of the machine to 60% increase without losses in the quality characteristics of the corrugated cardboard produced with PVA-added starch glue in Çağlar Ambalaj Ltd.Şti. Thus, as the production capacity of the factory will increase, hence market competitiveness of the product will increase due to the decrease in the production costs of corrugated board.
