The mediation variable role of perfecti̇oni̇sm and self-respect in the relationship between death anxiety and orthorexia nervosa tendency

The purpose of recent study targeted to research is the relationship between Perfectionism, death anxiety, orthorexia nervosa tendency and self-esteem. The study sample react 716 adults(443 Women 273 Man) by using convenience sampling method. Quantitative method was used during the research. To assess all the aforementioned variables; a Sociodemographic İnformation Form, Turkish Death Anxiety Scale (TDAS), Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, Almost Perfect Scale-Revised (APS-R) and ORTO-11 Scale utilized as data collection tools. The research findings illustrated significant correlational relationships between self-esteem, death anxiety, orthorexia nervosa tendency and discrepancy subtype of perfectionism. In this present study three mediation relationships including the mediation variable role of self-esteem in the relationship between death anxiety and orthorexia nervosa tendency, the mediation variable role of the discrepancy subtype in the relationship between death anxiety and orthorexia nervosa tendency and the mediation variable role of discrepancy subtype in the relationship between self-esteem and orthorexia nervosa tendency, were investigated by using PROCESS 3.5 Makro analysis. All three of the mediation analysis were found statistically significant. The result of the present study showed that three mediation relationship explained %4, %5 and %4 of movement in the variation respectively. The results which were consistent with the other studies in literature, suggestions for future research and limitations of the study were discussed thoroughly.
