The mosaics of church 3 in Olympos Ancient City

This study is about the opus tesellatum mosaics of Church 3, which is one of the nine churches of the Olmypos Ancient City on the Teke Peninsula, which was called "Lycia" in Antiquity. Built between the end of the 5th century and the beginning of the 6th century, in-situ floor mosaics were found in the south nave, north nave and northeast chamber of Church 3, which is a three-aisled basilica. The mosaics related to the walls, arches and galleries were found fallen from the places they belonged to. Floor mosaics have geometric and floral patterns, wall and arch mosaics have geometric and floral patterns as well as figures and Greek letters. Mosaics reflect the characteristics of the period and region in design. As a result of the data obtained, it is considered appropriate that the relevant mosaics were completed between the end of the 5th century and the second half of the 6th century.
