The roots and base of Ömer Açık's children's novel examination in terms of values

In this study, Ömer Açık's children's novels were examined in terms of the root values ​​"justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, helpfulness" and sub-values ​​included in the curriculum change of the Ministry of National Education in 2017. In the research, document analysis method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the data determination process, and descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. The data of the study was obtained from Ömer Açık's works named "Menekşe Station", "Summer Traveler and Hapşu Aunt", "My Father Ömür Adam", "Montsuzlar", "Taşkafa". The values ​​in the works, the frequency of occurrence of the values ​​and the pages where they were found were determined; The findings were recorded in tables, figures and text and interpreted using the descriptive analysis method. In the first part of this study, which consists of five parts, the research problem, the importance of the researched subject, the purpose of the research, assumptions and limitations are determined. The second part consists of the theoretical framework of the study. This section contains academic definitions and comments about the study. In the third section, information about the research model is given. The data collected for this research and the analysis technique used for the research are included. The fourth chapter constitutes the findings of the research. In this section, ten root values, which were included in the curriculum change of the Ministry of National Education in 2017 and are seen as the basis of values ​​education, are included. The definitions of root and subvalues ​​and how the values ​​are processed in the works are interpreted with example sentences, and the frequency of use of the values ​​is calculated both numerically and in percentage terms. In the fifth chapter, research results and suggestions regarding the research are included. A total of 701 value messages were identified, 147 in the author's novel "Menekşe Station", 71 in "Summer Traveler and Aunt Hapşu", 121 in "My Father Ömür Adam", 191 in "Montsuzlar" and 171 in "Taşkafa".
