The Prophet's biography in the poetry of Omar Abu Risha

In This study examines the life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as depicted in the poetry of Omar Abu Risha, and it is structured into an introduction and two main chapters. The first chapter presents the life of Abu Risha, his literary contributions, and five poems in which he addresses the theme of Prophethood. It then analyzes these five poems, focusing on the poet's portrayal of the life of the Prophet. The second chapter explores the artistic structure found in these poems. After defining the concept of artistic structure, the study examines the titles, lengths, and linguistic features of the poems. It then highlights their musical structure, analyzing elements of external harmony such as arūḍ meters, rhyme letters, and the rawī. This is followed by a study of internal harmony and its components, including taṣrīʿ, repetition, pun, and antithesis. The study is concluded with a summary of the important conclusions reached. Some of the important results achieved: - Abu Risha's poems contain considerable information about key aspects of the Prophet's life, including his birth, childhood, the descent of revelation, the conquest of Mecca, and his death, thus reflecting both the pre-prophetic and prophetic periods. - Moreover, the poet follows the stylistic tradition of classical Arabic poets in both linguistic and musical structure, composing his poems under the influence of his inner world and emotions. - His overall approach reflects deep love for the Prophet (pbuh) and pride in Islam, a religion that commands justice and condemns injustice.
