Ömer Efendi's Ahlâk-i Muhsinî tercümesi: Review- edition (98-b – 198-a)

When the Works written in classical Turkish literature are examined, it's seen that moral principles are given great importance. The purpose of almost all of the moral books is to speak of the moral values of Islam. Muslims with common moral values have translated these works written in various languages into their own languages and consequently tried to educate individuals and society. One of these works translated is the work called Ahlâk-ı Muhsinî which Ebu'l Muhsin Mirza H.900/ M.wrote in 1495 for Hüseyin Vâiz-i Kâşifî (d.910/1504-1505) who was one of the important names of the 15th century, Hüseyin Baykara's son Ebu'l Muhsin Mirza H.900 In this study, XVII. Century one of the authors Omer Efendi's (1031/m.1622) "Ahlâk-ı Muhsinî" work was studied. The work which is important in terms of reflecting the moral understanding of Ottoman society is an example of the type of advice and politics. In consists of forty chapters written seperately subjects like "prayer, praise, trust, patience, literary, justice, compassion, humility, fidelity, effort, politics and evaluating opportunities." Verses, hadiths, stories, proverbs; Arabic, Persian and Turkish poems appropriate to the subject were used to make the work more expressive. Ethics is mentioned here and information is given about Hüseyin Vâiz Kaşifî and Ömer Efendi. 98-B /198-A of the copy of the work, which is registered in the Kütahya Vahit Paşa Provincial Public Library, 43 VA 717 and the other copy of the work which is registered in Istanbul University Rare Works Library TY 6298 has been converted into new letters with the transcription system. Text analysing esas made with comparasion between the two. Since the other part of the work was previously given as a master thesis, the subject was limited.
