Ömer Tuğrul İnançer's musical personality and his contribution to Turkish religious music

This thesis aims to examine the life, musical expertise, works, and contributions of Ömer Tuğrul İnançer to Turkish Classical Music, with the goal of transmitting his legacy to future generations, setting an example, and preserving his work within the academic sphere. The study employed a qualitative research design using the interview method to collect data. Interviews with close acquaintances and information from the literature were utilized. Ömer Tuğrul İnançer, a writer, sufi, consultant, jurist, lawyer, musician, researcher, and music scholar, made significant contributions to Turkish Classical Music through his involvement with the Turkish Sufi Music and Folklore Research and Preservation Foundation, the Istanbul Historical Turkish Music Ensemble, and his individual endeavors. He developed his musical skills through music education he received from a young age and the environments he encountered later in life. He performed as a kudüm and bendir player in concerts and programs. He authored various articles and books on music and participated in numerous TV and radio programs as a guest artist. Within the foundation, he carried out the literary classification of musical works. To ensure the continuity of the Turkish Classical Music repertoire, he identified lyrics and distributed them to composers for musical composition. He also arranged lyrics for the composed pieces. He played a pivotal role in preserving these composed works and transmitting them to future generations. With the aim of developing, advancing, and promoting Turkish Classical Music, and transmitting it to future generations, he conducted significant studies both in Turkey and around the world.
