Özet (EN)

The most commonly used technique for repairing or strengthening of reinforced concrete beams, from one or two faces, which are insufficient or demaged under the vertical loads is to add a new concrete layer carrying new longitudinal reinforcement. Although the behaviour of the strengthened/ repaired reinforced concrete beams with this method under the monotonous or repated loads is known, the behaviour under the seismic loads is not clear yet. The objective of this study is not to search for a new strengthening/repair method for seismic loads. In this study, the behaviour of the reinforced concrete beams, strengthened/repaired for some other reasons with adding a new layer technique, has been investigated under the reversal cyclic loading that simulates sysmic loads. The effects of various anchorage bond methods of new layer bars, on the behaviour and strength of the beams has also been studied. At the end of this research it was observed that, strengthened/repaired reinforced concrete beams with adding a new layer technique behaved succesfully well under the reversal cyclic loading that simulates sysmic loads. A limited success has been reached for the beams which are repaired after heavy demage (revival) because sufficient ductility could not be observed.
