Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted using a randomized controlled experimental design with repeated measures (pre–post–follow-up) to examine the effect of a Positive Psychotherapy Balance Model–Based Psychoeducation intervention on balanced living, psychological well-being, and self-efficacy levels among caregivers of patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer. A total of 38 caregivers of individuals with colorectal cancer were included in the study. Nineteen oncology caregivers received a five-session psychoeducation program, while the remaining nineteen caregivers were provided with a single-session informational training. All caregivers were evaluated before the intervention, after the intervention, and at the third-month follow-up using the Balanced Living Scale, the Psychological Well-Being Scale, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. In the analysis of the data, Chi-square and Fisher's Chi-square tests, Independent Samples t-test, Mann–Whitney U test, Repeated Measures Analysis of Variance, and the Friedman test were employed. The findings indicated that the psychoeducation program was effective in improving balanced living, psychological well-being, and general self-efficacy among oncology caregivers; however, these improvements were not sustained at follow-up. In this context, it is recommended that the psychoeducation intervention be integrated into routine care and follow-up processes and that the training sessions be repeated at more frequent intervals to enhance sustainability
