Abstract (EN)

In line with the Uses and Gratifications Approach, the issues presented to the public and the public on the online news sites, which are the digital extension of the traditional media, are not reflected in social networks in a similar way through the evaluation of active traces of the audience. With the developing technology, it has been observed that user attitudes and communication channels have changed. In this study, in accordance with the uses and gratifications approach which is one of the ongoing effects of mass media; the aim of this research is to investigate the reflection of news on online news sites and social networks. In this context, the historical development of mass media, audience-centered uses and gratifications approach, social media and social media measurement issues are discussed in sub-headings. The research is a qualitative case study carried out by content analysis method by listening to social media with Socialth Sense social media measurement tool. In the research, it is concluded that the reflection of the news on online news sites on social networks is different.
