Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT The works of German composer Richard Wagner and Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi, who lived in the 19th century, was a turning point in the history of art. They changed the form and purpose of music and theater, which are the basic elements of opera, with their untraditional styles. They made a reform in opera by using new harmonical structures, orchestral forms and different musical lines. In this study, the innovations brought by Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi to opera will be examined. Keywords: 19th Opera Century, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi
