The reform of opera by Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi

ABSTRACT The works of German composer Richard Wagner and Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi, who lived in the 19th century, was a turning point in the history of art. They changed the form and purpose of music and theater, which are the basic elements of opera, with their untraditional styles. They made a reform in opera by using new harmonical structures, orchestral forms and different musical lines.
